APA Makes Parmelia Gas Pipe Hydrogen Ready
Australian gas infrastructure company APA on February 23 announced a hydrogen pilot project to enable the proposed conversion of 43 km of the Parmelia gas pipeline in Western Australia into a 100% hydrogen-ready transmission pipeline.
This announcement is the company’s first investment under its Pathfinder Programme. “This is a tangible example of how APA is investing in a technology pathway towards net zero emissions by 2050,” APA CEO Rob Wheals said.
He said that Pathfinder will help the company unlock the innovation, technology and new energy opportunities, with an initial focus on clean molecules, off-grid renewables and storage.
